Automated Call Debit Card Scam

Provident Bank has received reports that some customers have received an automated call informing them their debit card has been frozen, and they need to press 1 to reactive the card, followed by asking the customer to enter their card number. The caller ID may read 777-7. These calls are fraudulent and not coming from Provident Bank. 

Please remember that Provident Bank will never request your debit card number, account number, Social Security Number, or PIN over the phone. If you believe your card may have been compromised because of this scam please call the contact center at 800.448.7768.
